Advanced Dust Collection Systems for the New Materials Industry

Here's a highlight of our recent project involving state-of-the-art dust collection systems in the integrated platinum-group metal material industry.

Project Overview

Our scope of work included full-process services for baghouse dust collector systems and supporting engineering for two catalyst workshops:

  • Copper-based Catalyst Workshop (Workshop III)

  • Palladium and Platinum Catalyst Workshop (Workshop I)

First Exhaust Gas Treatment Process

  • Airflow: 3,000 m³/h

  • Dust Concentration: 200 mg/m³

  • Dust Composition: Copper-silicon mixture with 20% copper content, 1% moisture.

Process Flow:

Exhaust gases pass through a cyclone dust collector, reducing dust concentration to ≤100 mg/m³.

The treated gases are combined with three other exhaust streams before entering the 1# baghouse dust collector for final filtration and discharge via a chimney.

Second Exhaust Gas Treatment Process

  • Airflow: 5,600 m³/h

  • Dust Type: Nano-scale silicon dioxide particles.

Process Flow:

Dust-laden gases enter the 2# baghouse dust collector.

Gases pass through a fan and are treated in a scrubbing tower, leveraging the water-soluble nature of nano-SiO for removal.
3️
Treated gases are discharged via a chimney.

Scrubbing Tower Features:

  • Material: FRP or 304 stainless steel.

  • Internal Velocity: ≤1.5 m/s.

  • Configuration: Two-layer packing, dual spray systems, maintenance platform, and dual-circuit pumps (one standby).

Third Exhaust Gas Treatment Process

  • Airflow: 1,000 m³/h

  • Dust Concentration: Up to 5 g/m³ (post-treatment standard: ≤10 mg/m³).

  • Dust Composition: Copper-silicon mixture with 20% copper content, 1% moisture.

Equipment Features:

  • Heavy-duty silent casters with brakes for mobility.

  • Industrial-grade handle for easy movement.

Fourth and Fifth Exhaust Gas Treatment Processes

  • Airflows:

    • 8,800 m³/h → 3# Baghouse Dust Collector → Fan → Chimney

    • 2,200 m³/h → 4# Baghouse Dust Collector → Fan → Chimney

    • 5,500 m³/h → 5# Baghouse Dust Collector → Fan → Chimney

    • 2,200 m³/h → 6# Baghouse Dust Collector → Fan → Chimney

Design Highlights:

  • Online cleaning mechanisms for all dust collectors.

  • Uniform specifications for filter bags and cages, ensuring easy replacement and interchangeability.
