How to reduce the replacement cycle of the security filter element?

Lifelt Filter believes that the general reasons for frequent replacement of security filter elements are:

(1) The raw water quality is unstable and fluctuates frequently, resulting in too much particulate matter entering the filter element, resulting in a shortened cycle;

(2) The pretreatment operation effect is poor. The flocculant and scale inhibitor added in the pretreatment are incompatible with each other or do not match the water source. The sticky substance formed adheres to the surface of the filter element, resulting in a decrease in the effective filtration area of the filter element and replacement of the filter element. frequently;

(3) The quality of the filter element is not good. The internal and external pore diameters of poor-quality filter elements are basically the same. In fact, only the outer layer acts as an interceptor, while the filter pore size of a good filter element decreases step by step from the outside to the inside, and the filtration accuracy of the inner layer is 5±0.5 µm, the dirt-holding capacity is larger, and the water quality can be guaranteed to be qualified for a long time.

Measures to prolong the service life of the filter element:

(1) The water source is generally a fixed water source and cannot be easily changed;

(2) Improve the operation effect of pretreatment, optimize the dosage of flocculant and coagulant aid, select the scale inhibitor suitable for the water source, adjust the pretreatment equipment to achieve the best operating state, and strictly follow the requirements of the operating procedures to ensure the quality of the pretreated effluent qualified;

(3) Select the brand filter element with guaranteed quality, which can not only prolong the service life of the filter element, but also ensure the water quality of the security filter.

For example, the GEOsmonics filter element has a filtration accuracy of 5±0.5µm. GEOsmonics’ new Purtrex filter element with Z.Plex technology redefines all previous RO pretreatment performance and filter element construction standards.

. Z.Plex technology uses a short diameter meltblown filter element, wide layer spacing and a three-dimensional fiber matrix Purtrex filter element is especially suitable for water treatment applications, because the fine sediment particles in water treatment applications can easily cause fouling of reverse osmosis equipment. This filter element is unmatched in retaining dirt in water, with lower pressure loss and longer service life.

Most similar filters are longer. Under the unloaded shell of the filter element, the fibers and three-dimensional network form a variety of pores, which can effectively capture impurities. In the following filter layers, the unique fiber structure of Z.Plex technology has an increasing number of small pores until the center of the filter element, which can maximize the filter life and sludge removal efficiency.

For accurate micron filtration, the core is the last filter layer. The inner core is a thermally bonded construction for unmatched integrity, downstream cleanliness and rigidity without the need for a support core. Likewise, the highly permeable, bonded surface coating is very smooth and prevents loose fiber migration, which is especially important for high-purity materials.

Application is critical.
