The Semiconductor Industry generally requires the highest purity water, often referred to as Ultrapure Water (UPW). Ultrapure water is water that has been purified to exceptionally stringent specifications. In this industry, even slight impurities can lead to product defects.

The manufacturing process of semiconductors is highly sensitive, and it involves many stages where ultrapure water is a necessity. It is used for rinsing purposes during the fabrication process of integrated circuits and other critical components. Such semantics are so intricate that even minor contamination could disrupt the conductivity or cause tiny defects that lead to overall device failure.

Another industry that requires high purity water but to a slightly lesser extreme than Semiconductor manufacturing is the Pharmaceutical industry. In these applications, water purity is crucial to ensure safety and efficacy in product manufacturing.

So, while many industries require pure water, it is typically the Semiconductor industry that needs the highest levels of purity.
