1.Efficiency of Contaminant Removal: The efficacy of filtration equipment in removing contaminants is central to its function. Effective filters should remove large impurities during the pre-treatment stage and later block all dissolved salts and fine contaminants in the reverse osmosis stage.
2.Durability and Resistance: Given the harsh nature of seawater, filtration equipment should have excellent corrosion resistance. Desalination filters are continuously exposed to high salt levels and other corrosive elements, making durability a critical property for a longer equipment lifespan and less frequent replacements.

Since desalination is energy-intensive, wasting water would mean wasting energy. Therefore, the efficiency of water use is a significant property for all filtration equipment used in desalination.
